[P4F] Anti-Cheat System, legends and myths

Good day! Increasingly start appearing the rumors that our protection system makes high CPU loading and it is impossible to play with it. In this article we consider to test resource consumption and find out that it actually is.

Performance Analysis.

As already mentioned above – we have a lot of reports what our security system is very demanding on the PC resources. Here are some of them:

load increases even when you launch some system programs, and I don’t know what going on but CPU loading increases to 100% and more. I wrote about it few times

I have Core I5 with 5GB RAM on board, my system is clean, haven’t any garbadge but I even can’t play with two game instances. And this is with decresed CPU usage in main.exe

P4f anti cheat is old and helpless as old beggar, xakum & bitcore bypass them as they want.

May be noted that the system was really resource demanding. But after couple of updates everything has changed. Let’s watch the tests and verify the current version of this protection.

 “AH” abbreviation means “Anti-Hack”. All fields with abbreviation “+ АН”  means what in this test protection used, otherwise it tested without protection.

Conclusions.

As you can see our protection use minimal system resources. On modern PC processor loading will increase only by 1-3%. But in some old computers it will be a bit more, around 5-10% (depending on CPU performance). Is this permissible or not – the choice of everyone.

Comparison with other products.

Very often folks compare us with MuGuard.Ru protection. That’s why we decide to compare resource consumption of these two systems protection systems.

To compare resource consumption we took two servers which had installed latest versions of both protection systems.

1) AlienNation – [P4F] Anti-Cheat System
2) MuRRed.Ru – MuGuard.Ru

We downloaded MuRRed.Ru client to test it. In this client we were found very suspicious files. Probably this files belonging to protection system.

2) glow.dll
3) Launcher.exe
4) main.exe
5) ogg.dll
6) tex.dll
7) update.exe
8) wz.dll
We can’t say that this is really viruses. Perhaps these files is a part of protection. But personally for us these files have expressed strong suspicions, so the number of test stands for protection MuGuard.Ru somewhat lower.
Results.
In this article, we didn’t affect level of protection or players preferences. We only touched resource consumption of two protection systems (MuGuard.Ru and [P4F] Anti-Cheat System). In this article we have tried to maximize test data on different platforms. All results are shown as screenshots, video or diagrams comparison. Please make conclusions for yourself.
